Yes, there will be another film. BATMAN is WB's biggest and most
profitable franchise and they are not about to let it die.
The next film "Intimidation Game" is currently in pre-production.
A 2005 release date has been discussed.
Christopher Nolan of MEMENTO and 2002's INSOMIA
fame will be directing this current installment of Batman.
David S. Goyer will be writing the script. His screen credits include
all the BLADE movies, 1996's The Crow: City of Angels, and 1998's
Dark City. In addition to his screen writing career, he is also
a popular writer of comic books, including JSA (Justice Society
of America) which he writes with Geoffrey Johns.
As far as we know this will not be a sequel
but a restart of the whole franchise. Things could change though.
Christian Bale will don the cape and cowl. Bale's early credits
include Disney's NEWSIES, and SWING KIDS. Bale regained media attention
for his roles in AMERICAN PYSCHO and REIGN OF FIRE.
It is a proposed series that would portray
a young Bruce Wayne on his way to becoming Batman. Produced by Tollin-Robbins
Productions, it is now on "hold," and believed to be shelved.
